Many men who are just beginning to study and understand scripture are tasked with questions concerning masturbation. The scriptures state that 'fornication is the only sin that a man commits against his own body (1st Corinthians 6:18)' - a statement that masturbation thoroughly encompasses. However, more-so than not, Biblical fornication is used in conjunction with idolatry; most noted in the decline of King Solomon (1st Kings 11). So, is masturbation idolatrous as well? Absolutely, and we will dissect it from this angle because idolatry is the most hidden or esoteric effect masturbation has on men who choose to engage in such an act.
Masturbation echoes homosexuality in every sense of the term. Masturbation signifies ONE just as the word 'homo' in homosexual signifies ONE. Masturbation is considered an alternative to sex just as homosexuality is considered an alternative - sexual - lifestyle. Ultimately, homosexuality is the embodiment of self-worship; the idolization of one's own phallic member. And, under esoteric scrutiny, if homosexuality could cast a shadow it would be in the form of masturbation.
There is a saying in boxing that 'the punches you don't see are the ones that hurt the most'. The same applies here because masturbation is often promoted as a viable means of routine ejaculation. Yes, there is empirical data showing that ejaculating consistently temporarily raises testosterone levels, and aids in prostate health. However, I encourage men to stick to traditional means of ejaculation for the sake of your manhood, and righteous means for the sake of your soul.
